Course Description:
Training on Basic Counseling will present, discuss and role play fundamentals of counseling. From familiarization on counseling jargon, developing basic counseling skills/techniques, incorporating theories in practice and exploring self-help tools which the participants will use first for themselves and then to clients.
This training aims to remind already practicing professionals about the basics which is often forgotten due to lack of opportunities to practice the skills and use the knowledge. For those who are new in practice, they will learn the foundation of counseling practice which will guide them along the way.
Objectives:
- Learn basic counseling techniques
- Increase understanding of counseling theories
- Integrate theories into practice
- Learn some self-help tools (i.e. therapeutic cards)
