Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Course Description

This course will provide an in depth discussion of the essential components of the CBT framework in social work practice. This course offers a therapeutic structure and exercises that will encourage participants or practitioners to explore their own values, strengths and limitation that they may bring into the counseling relationship. At the end of the course participants will understand the important components of CBT that are essentials in facilitating positive change in them and their clients in the context of sexual abuse trauma.

Objectives:

  • To increase children’s access to cognitive behavior therapy
  • To have a beginning understanding of the use of cognitive behaviour therapy in social work practice – clinical setting.
  • To apply cognitive behavior therapy in treating sex abuse children.
