Professional Response to Child Sexual Abuse (Prevention)

Course Description:

The session on prevention covers definition, characteristics, causes, and prevention, components, including handling disclosures. Much of the time is spent workshopping the personal safety materials of CPTCSA. Other methodologies include interactive lectures, demonstrations, guest speakers, role playing, video showing and sharing of materials and experiences.

Objectives:

  • To increase awareness of participants about the causes and effects of child sexual abuse on the victims and their families.
  • To equip professionals with skills, materials and resources to identify potential victims and respond to disclosure appropriately.
  • To share strategies for the prevention of child sexual abuse.
