Course Description:
This course equips the participants with knowledge, values and skills in Solution-Focused Approach (SFA) appropriate to Filipino culture in addressing bio-psychosocial-spiritual problems of individuals, families and groups.
Objectives:
At the end of the training participants will be able to:
- Discuss the dynamics and functions of a Filipino family as a social system
- Demonstrate the effective listening skills;
- Explain the central techniques of solution-focused approach;
- Illustrate the use of SFA four questions in helping clients identify solutions to challenge in their lives; and
- Role play application of SFA in growth, counselling and therapy groups
Each child’s survival story will be different depending on their age, gender, family, experience, and many other factors in their environment.
This is an online game which can be played by a family with easily obtainable materials to help families recognize and talk about how they are adjusting to the new normal.
