Course Description
Trauma Informed care helps the participants in understanding how the brain works during trauma, it’s impact to victims through recognizing signs and symptoms. By being knowledgeable on this matter, care givers / social workers can provide personalized intervention to client children. Also part of this training is trauma stewardship for care givers and social workers.
Objectives:
- Understand trauma and its impact to victims of sexually abuse children
- Recognize signs and symptoms of trauma to children
- Demonstrate proper techniques for addressing challenging behaviour
- Identify and implement self-care strategies to prevent burnout
Each child’s survival story will be different depending on their age, gender, family, experience, and many other factors in their environment.
This is an online game which can be played by a family with easily obtainable materials to help families recognize and talk about how they are adjusting to the new normal.
