Course Description:
Training on Basic Counseling will present, discuss and role play fundamentals of counselling. From familiarization on counselling jargons, developing basic counselling skills/techniques, incorporating theories in practice and exploring self-help tools which the participants will use first for themselves and then to clients. This training aims to remind already practicing professionals about the basics which is often forgotten due to lack of opportunities to practice the skills and use the knowledge. For those who are new in practice, they will learn the foundations of counselling practice which will guide them along the way.
Objectives:
For the participants to be able to:
- Learn basic counselling techniques
- Increase understanding of counselling theories
- Integrate theories into practice
- Learn some self help tools (i.e. therapeutic cards)
Each child’s survival story will be different depending on their age, gender, family, experience, and many other factors in their environment.
This is an online game which can be played by a family with easily obtainable materials to help families recognize and talk about how they are adjusting to the new normal.
